Fitbit Inc. is a company headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA. They designed the Fitbit products whose main capabilities lie in the built-in accelerometer which measures movement, much like an accelerometer inside the WII Remote.
There are currently three models of the Fitbit tracker. In this website, we look at their differences so you can decide which one is best for you.
But first, what is a Fitbit Activity Tracker?
The Fitbit Activity Tracker is one of those hybrid, wearable technology that works as your personal trainer. It is a combo of the pedometer, heart-rate monitor, sleep monitor and food and calorie tracker. The goal of this device is to track your everyday fitness activities and ultimately gain a long-term result. The modern pedometer measures your steps and other activity, including climbing stage, time and intensity level and tells you how much more movement you need to do to reach your daily goal.
The heart rate monitor tracks your heart beat to keep you at the heart rate capacity at which optimal fat loss is achieved. The sleep monitor tells you how well you slept the night before so you can then improve your slumber preparations. It shows you how long it took you to fall asleep, your restlessness, and the quality of your sleep.
The food tracker allows you to input what you ate. And the fitness tracker then adds up your calorie intake, compare that to your days activities and calorie loss, and finally tell you if you have a total calorie loss, or calorie gained.
At a glance, here’s what each of the three Fitbit trackers can do:
- Tracks your way, distance, the number of calories burned, and running minutes
- You can note the account of food, weight, and more on Fitbit’s website or apps
- You can set alarm which will wake you up with a silent wake alarm
- LED lights feature to give you data how your day is going on against your goal
- Set goals, see progress, and get a badge
- Share and compete with other users throughout the day
- Syncs automatically
- Free iPhone and Android App
- Rechargeable battery
The Fitbit Flex and Fitbit One (not Fitbit Zip) also monitors how long and how well you sleep
